Caesarea by the Sea – Palatial city on the sea built by Herod the Great in 22 BC and where the Gospel first went out to the Gentiles
Mt. Carmel – Mountain where Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal
Valley of Armageddon – Also known as the Jezreel Valley and the final battlefield described in the Book of Revelation
Drive to the Sea of Galilee

Ancient Galilee Boat Museum – See a boat from the time of Jesus that was discovered on the shore of the sea
Capernaum – Site of the synagogue where Jesus taught and performed miracles
Mount of Beatitudes – Traditional site where Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount
Baptism service in the Jordan River for those wanting to be baptized.

Thursday, Nov 14 – Explore Northern Galilee and the Golan Heights!
Caesarea Phillipi – The pagan city where Jesus asks Peter “Who do you say that I am?”
Ancient Dan – Beautiful nature reserve and the site of ancient Dan where King Jeroboam set up a golden calf and a mud brick gate that Abraham may have entered after he rescued Lot.
Golan Heights – From Mt. Bental overlooking Syria, we’ll learn about the wars of modern Israel and the importance of this strategic location

Friday, Nov 15 – South to the Dead Sea
Beit She’an – Spectacular archeological site with the ruins of a palatial Greco-Roman city and the sight where the Philistines hung the head of King Saul
Arrive at Dead Sea – Here you can enjoy floating in the beautiful, salty waters 1400 ft below seal level – lowest place on earth.

Qumran – Where the Dead Sea Scrolls were first discovered in a cave in 1940

Mount of Olives – Site of Jesus’ ascension with a panoramic view of the Old City of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount
Garden of Gethsemane – In this area Jesus prayed the night before he was betrayed. We hope to gather for a worship service while there.
Western Wall & Western Wall Tunnels – For centuries a small portion of the western wall of the Temple Mount was the closest a religious Jew could get to the site of the Jewish Temple. Known as the Western Wall, Jews travel from around the world to pray there. We will visit the Western Wall and tour a tunnel that follows the length of this wall and takes us down to the streets from the time of Jesus and to the original foundation stones of the Temple Mount

Monday, Nov 18 – Amazing Day in the Old City of Jerusalem
Temple Mount & Dome of the Rock – Just before Jesus’ birth, Herod the Great built an enormous raised platform to serve as a plaza surrounding the second Jewish Temple. That platform is known today as the Temple Mount and on it sits the iconic Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque two of Islam’s holiest sites and one of the most fought over places in the world. The second Jewish Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD
Pools of Bethesda & St. Anne’s Church – Beautiful church located next to the pools where Jesus asks the lame man “Do you want to be well?”

Yad Vashem - Israel’s Holocaust Museum
Southern Steps – The ancient steps to the entrance of the Temple Mount, where Jesus would have walked on his way “up to the Temple”
Davidson Archaeological Park - Learn more about what Herod’s temple complex and surrounding streets looked like by touring the park’s museum and seeing 2,000 year old sites around it
City of David – The location of David’s Jerusalem and a great place to overlook Old Jerusalem and location where David build his kingdom’s capital
Pool of Siloam – The place where Jesus sent a blind man to wash his eyes to regain his sight. This site is being actively excavated, expanded and reconstructed many times larger than the site available for last decade.

Wednesday, Nov 20 – Return Home or on to Jordan and Petra
Holy Land Model – A remarkable scale model of the City of Jerusalem during Jesus’ lifetime
Shrine of the Book Museum – The museum that houses many of the Dead Sea Scrolls that are the oldest copies of the Bible in existence
Garden Tomb and Communion Service – A Garden with an ancient tomb near a hillside that reflects where Jesus could have been crucified, buried and resurrected
Free Afternoon in the Old City or at the Mamilla spa.
Farewell Dinner at Notre Dame overlooking the Old City
Transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for a late-night departure for the US for those only touring Israel
Those going to Jordan will overnight in Jerusalem
Thursday, Nov 21 – Return to USA or on to Jordan and Petra
